The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is the top appointed management position in the County and serves at the pleasure of the Board of Commissioners. Executive Director, Economic Development Corporation - Sherman County

The Sherman County Economic Development Corporation is seeking candidates for the position of Executive Director.

The Executive Director coordinates all activities, programs, and operations of the Sherman County Economic Development, Inc. Board.  Under the direction of the board of directors, the Executive Director shall implement activities focusing on the retention and expansion of existing businesses, attracting new businesses, and creating jobs while preserving and promoting the quality of life in Sherman County, Nebraska.

Executive Director will also help local partners strengthen Sherman County’s workforce, develop community resources, increase and improve community housing stock, attract new capital investment, broaden the community’s tax base, and provide local community services needed to maintain an excellent quality of life.  Also included in job responsibilities is management of properties owned by SCED Inc.

The Executive Director preferred qualifications are proficiency with office management/accounting/computer skills, previous work in economic development, public relations, and strategic planning.
