Banner County Deputy Sheriff
Banner County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for a full-time Deputy Sheriff. Certified law enforcement officers are preferred but all applications will be considered. Applicants must be 21 years of age, have a high school or GED diploma, valid drivers license, no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions, be of good moral character and good physical condition. All uncertified applicants must be able to meet the standards for entrance to the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center. Responsibilities will include all duties related to the 4 phases of emergency management: Mitigation, Preparedness, Response and Recovery. Manage emergency management office, budget and county level emergency management program. Additional duties will include grant management and federal disaster recovery applications. Nebraska EM certification and accomplished NIMS training will be given special consideration. Participation in the East-Central PET region is expected. Establishing a common operating picture and ICS/NIMS response program between the 15 municipalities, fire districts and law enforcement agencies is a priority. Experience working with volunteers is essential. Applicants must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language and must have the ability to legally work in the United States.
