County Classified is posted as a service to counties seeking to fill employment positions, solicit bids or sell surplus property or equipment.  There is no charge for a county to post an advertisement on this page.

Advertisements must be submitted at least one week prior to the desired posting date.  To have an advertisement included on the NACO Web site, please mail or fax a copy to the NACO office.

Sheridan County Weed Superintendent

Sheridan County, Nebraska is accepting applications for the position of Weed Superintendent.

The Superintendent helps protect lands in Sheridan County from noxious, invasive weeds and uncontrolled prairie dog colonies. The Superintendent is hired by and reports to the Board of County Commissioners. The job requires good observation, record-keeping and management skills. Because the Superintendent works with land-owners in sometimes difficult circumstances, good people skills are essential. This is a salaried, management position that sometimes requires long hours and vigorous physical activity in harsh working conditions. The Superintendent must have a Nebraska Certified Commercial Applicator’s license with General, Ag Plant, and Right of Way categories.

Sheridan County Highway Superintendent

Sheridan County, Nebraska is accepting applications for the position of Highway Superintendent. 

The Superintendent serves as steward of the County’s 1,200 miles of roads, mostly unpaved,  preparing and managing a budget of roughly $4.5 million,  a staff of about 20 and a fleet of heavy equipment.  The Superintendent is hired by and reports to the Board of County Commissioners.   The job requires good listening skills, patience and diplomacy as well as fiscal and engineering skills and a high tolerance for paper-work.  This is a salaried, management position that sometimes requires long hours and vigorous physical activity in harsh working conditions.
